Atropos Log #5


The penultimate (I hope) update:

It’s been a loooooong road, but I’m finally starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

This week, some important updates:

  • Content!
    • Added 12 more items (Doubled the amount) and reskinned the 3
    • Added 7 more ships (Tripled the amount)
    • Put in all the planets
  • Fixed the lock system - now it uses simple silhouettes, and is soo much less ugly
  • Planets can be destroyed now!
  • UI updates, though this time they’re mostly small ones
  • Combat mechanics pretty much are fully implemented
  • Fixed small bugs with counting
  • Optimization

Now, there isn’t much in terms of development I have to do. It’s mostly just some (a lot) of programming from here.

My development path goes like this right now:

  1. Fog of War for the map - should be easy
  2. Settings - lots of UI
  3. Stats - Data collection, maybe leading to achievements?
  4. Saving (My biggest challenge - in the last game, it was a nightmare, and definitely the hardest part of the whole endeavour)
  5. Tutorial (Not too sure how to do this)
  6. Title Screen - Fun!
  7. Ads? (I’d like to see how to implement these. No microtransactions, I promise)
  8. Publishing to store!
